API onboarding and governance were fragmented: specs drifted, docs went stale, discovery was keyword-based, and duplication was common. Reviews ran through manual JIRA handoffs and tribal knowledge.

Constraints

Enterprise security and audit requirements. Had to integrate with existing JIRA workflows. Needed to scale across thousands of APIs and support internal teams plus external partners.
